A thin boundary wire installed just below ground level (4-6 inches) conveys a radio signal to a small, lightweight receiver attached to the dog's collar. When the pet attempts to cross the boundary, the wire transmits a signal to receiver. Our system has 2 zones. The first zone is adjustable from no correction (pet only hears a warning tone) up to full correction as in zone 2. If the pet ignores the warning in zone 1 it receives a mild correction from zone 2. This is why the training sessions are so important. Your pet is trained to know that inside the boundary is safe and returns to the middle of the "safe" area.
